Be quick at this price...Welcome to the sale of my highly desirable and much sought after Volvo S60 D5 R Design Polestar Performance Registered 22nd December...>
2010 only 14 months old still under manufacturers warranty. The New S60 D5 R Design delivers 232 BHP thanks to an innovative power upgrade by Volvo`s tuning company Polestar Performance This is not just any S60, a total one of a kind and I will be very sorry to see it go. This is Volvo`s premier release as it was showcased by Volvo UK highlighting the latest safety equipment and media communications that rewrote the car guides and moved the automobile goalposts another mile further from the competition. This car cost a genuine £37,000 in this spec. ( Build it in the Volvo configurator and see for yourself ). Why follow the masses?? Pound for pound this car offers the very best all round experience, performance Volvo have clearly produced a winner with the all new s60 r designThe MPG is awesome for a 232 BHP car, I regularly get high 45`s - but on a journey I get between 58MPG and 62MPG, it is incredible when you combine the cost of road tax - only £115 per year... yes £115 per year for 232BHP. This is realistically priced bearing in mind to replace this today would be extremely difficult and time consuming. This is built with the D5 engine combined with a slick 6 speed box including Polestar power upgrade which is accepted by Volvo and has no effect on the original Volvo Warranty. The warranty applied to the car is naturally transferable into the new owners name. This colour & spec would be virtually impossible to find today for this money, it is in truly immaculate condition. You will not be disappointed - I guarantee it. Bargain price - very, very reluctant sale. Please no timewasters or canvassersAny questions, please contact me 07715205745No agencies or timewasters. X

Auto Express Car Reviews By Tom PhillipsSeptember 2010 Volvo has added an extra dose of sportiness to its new S60 and V60 ranges. The R Design packages for both cars will debut at the Paris Motor Show, and feature cosmetic upgrades which add a little extra visual drama. The Swedish firm claims that around 10 per cent of buyers will opt for the R Design models. The packages include gloss black grilles, deeper bumpers, Audi-style matt silver wing mirror caps, five-spoke 18-inch wheels and a revised treatment for the exhausts. On the inside, R Design features include sports seats, a sportier steering wheel, sports pedals and a special mat set.Mechanical changes are limited to a strut brace for the front suspension and monotube damping for the rear one, 15 mm shorter, stiffer springs, firmer bushings and a new Corner Traction Control system.Volvo has made a distinct effort to promote the sporting credentials of the new S60, aiming it more squarely at the familiar German opposition of the BMW 3-Series. And while the R Design trim additions don’t add any extra performance, the firm is likely to offer a fire-breathing S60 R, as previewed by the T6 built by tuner Heico Sportiv, later in the car’s life cycle. Upgrades can be fitted across the entire Volvo S60 and V60 range, from the economical 163bhp D3 2-litre diesel to the performance 304bhp, 3-litre T6 petrol. Volvo S60 and V60 gallery: Exterior styling tweaks include a redesigned and more aggressive front bumper, as well as a rear bumper diffuser housing twin exhaust tailpipes. Five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels fill the wheel arches, thanks to 15mm lowered suspension which is also stiffer for improved road holding. Volvo’s Corner Traction Control (CTC) system has been introduced, which brakes an inside wheel during cornering to transfer power to the outside wheels, give the car greater agility and resistance to understeer – where the car runs wide. The Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) also features a sports setting which allows a greater degree of skidding before it will intervene. UK customers are big fans of tweaked R-Design Volvos, and they now account for 25 per cent of all its new car sales and as many as 60 per cent of sales in some of its model lines. Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design 21 September 2010 Introducing the all-new S60 and V60 R-Design - designed with true sports-car feel and featuring a specially developed chassis to ensure that the driving experience matches the car's appearance. "The all-new S60 and V60 are our sportiest models ever. With R-Design they are even sharper. They're the natural choice for true connoisseurs," says Magnus Jonsson, Senior Vice President Product Development at Volvo Cars. Sporty, sportier, sportiest - in order to keep the superlatives in check Volvo Cars has taken an holistic view of the all-new S60 and V60 R-Design, with the design and chassis being developed in parallel into a single cohesive offer. "These cars have been specially developed for buyers who want to put their very own stamp on their car. And with R-Design, we are attracting a younger target group. We expect that 10 percent of all S60 and V60 customers will choose the R-Design option on markets where it is available. We aim to win over one-third of these customers from competing brands," says Magnus Jonsson. Volvo Cars' chassis experts have taken the next step on the road to a more and more exciting driving experience. "In the R-Design chassis we've sharpened the steering, the agility and the solid overall impression still further compared with the dynamic chassis in the all-new S60 and V60," says Stefan Sällqvist, manager of vehicle dynamics at Volvo Cars. Redesigned front The all-new Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design come with a range of specially developed design details both outside and in. On the outside the cars have an imposing redesigned front with a grille painted in glossy piano black. The sporty stance is further enhanced with colour-matched body components, details in matt special finish and a hexagonal pattern that is repeated both front and rear. Distinctive twin exhaust tailpipes and unique five-spoke 18-inch Diamond cut wheels emphasise the sporty overall appeal. The introductory colour is Passion Red but the Volvo S60 and V60 R-design are also available in choice of another seven colours. Sports seat with new seat cushion On the inside, the driver and front passenger sit in sports seats in which the backrest from the S60 and V60 is matched by an all-new seat cushion with even closer side support than before. "The seat cushion shapes itself to the occupant's body but is nonetheless firm, thanks to a combination of two layers each with a different degree of hardness. As a result, drivers of different sizes all enjoy the same excellent side support," explains Magnus Jonsson. The special leather/textile upholstery is available in a version trimmed in off-black and ceramic light, or in an all-black variant, both with contrasting stitching. The interior also features a special steering wheel, gear selector, sports pedals and floor-mats. Introduced in Autumn 2010 Magnus Jonsson summarises: "The all-new S60 and V60 mark the beginning of a new approach to our successful R-Design. We've gone one step further this time, with our sights set on creating a cohesive whole, an integrated blend of sporty looks and an exciting drive. They take our quest for authentic sportiness another step forward." The all-new Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design will be introduced in autumn 2010. Their biggest markets are Great Britain, the USA (only the S60 R-Design) and Central Europe. "R-Design has already helped increase our sales and lower the age of our customer base. We believe that the all-new S60 and V60 R-Design will give this trend a substantial boost," comments Magnus Jonsson. The new C30 R-Design gets the usual R-design makeover, but in the C30 Volvo are also promising much more with the inclusion of a new Sports Chassis in to the mix (an option on the new C30). The new chassis gets lowered by 10mm compared to the standard spec. The steering ratio is lowered to give a more direct response, and fitted with upgraded bushes. The springs have been stiffened by 30%, and the dampers also benefit from a stiffer setting with quicker responses. The R-Design body kit on the C30 is painted in the same colour as the car for a seamless integration, and the visual illusion that the C30 is actually much lower tha the 10mm suspension drop. Five-spoke Cactus alloys are fitted, and the interior gets new upholstery. Just a shame there are no power upgrades. Still, I suppose that’s a sign of the times. All show and no go. This R-Design pack makes it more so. > Reviews homepage -> Volvo reviews | First Drive | Kaprun, Austrian | 2010 Volvo XC60 R-Design | The quasi-Top Gear existence of a car journalist is a funny one. All our friends seem to think our nine-to-five existence is solely on a test track, perfecting our opposite lock skills in whatever MPV we've got at the time, then spending a couple of minutes begrudgingly typing up our thoughts on inconsequential things like rear legroom and switchgear tactility. It's not true. Sometimes we do opposite lock on purpose built ice arenas in sports utility vehicles. That's what we did in the new Volvo XC60 R-Design... In the Metal Unlike the S-Line and M Sport stuff Audi and BMW respectively knock out, which gives punters without the minerals for the real thing the chance to at least look the part, Volvo's R-Design brand doesn't have any halo car to speak of from which it draws inspiration. The last proper R car died with the S60. However, with the launch of the C30 sport chassis - which comes as standard on R-Design cars - and now this XC60 version, Volvo is at least making the letter stand for something more than nice bodywork. The XC60 R-Design is a chassis upgrade as well as a visual one. We'll get into that in a minute. Aesthetic changes are mild but easily distinguishable, with a matte silver finish for the mirror caps, rear skid plate and scuff plates, unique 18-inch alloys and the option of some 'gangsta' 20-inchers for when you fancy some flossing. (Which is hip-hop for showing off. Word.) The plastic cladding of lesser versions is ditched for body coloured metal too. Inside, there's aluminium in the wheel and door cards, the pedals are made of it too, and the centre console stack is dark grey. Sounds unimportant, but actually it adds to a better vibe in there. What you get for your Money The cosmetic changes are only half the story, because the R-Design gets stiffened suspension to make it feel more like the burgeoned estate it looks like on the road. Lower and more involving, that is. But because it's still a 4x4 (well, if you ask for it that way) with a modicum of off-road promise, Volvo has opted against actually lowering the springs. The steering has been tinkered with as well, so the car turns in with more enthusiasm. It's not cheap though. Which isn't to say it's bad value, but it'll cost £29,495 to get on the R-Design ladder with a 2.4-litre diesel DRIVe with front-wheel drive, up to £37,245 for - take a deep breath - a T6 AWD R-Design SE Premium Geartronic model. That's got a bit of bite too, with 281bhp. Driving it Remember our intro? We weren't just showing off. The point was that the majority of the time we spent with the XC60 - which was plentiful - was on icy planes, mostly looking out of the side window as we steered. The time we did get on concrete roads - cold as they were - told us that the R-Design's suspension hasn't ruined the XC60's usually exemplary ride comfort. It is tangibly tauter around corners, and the trade-off for that is a little more body movement at lower speeds, but it's far from sports saloon firm. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't handle like a sports saloon either. Stiffer springs and sharper steering or not, the forces of gravity mean this is no way a sporty car; it's just one with fractionally more bite than the standard car, but not the irritating, coccyx-worrying firmness of some of the bigger premium SUVs. Plus, the D5 engine seems well suited to the more relaxed nature of driving the XC60, offering abundant low down torque (there's 309lb.ft of it) and whose noise is far better abated than the diesels in littler Volvos. The Geartronic auto 'box is a good fit too, which although sometimes too keen to hold onto a gear higher in the revs (where engine noise encroaches a little too much), swaps cogs quickly and is willing to drop a couple with alacrity when needed. Otherwise it's business as usual; spacious, classy and comfortable, the XC60 remains one of the better medium sub-premium, post-mainstream SUV crossover things. If indeed it has any direct rivals at all, when put like that. Worth Noting Turn the traction control off when you're driving on an ice rink. It's more fun... Summary The visual addenda of the R-Design spec XC60 add more driver appeal than the dynamic enhancements do. However, the sharpening up is handled tastefully, without recourse to the sort of stiffness that would render it useless off-road and annoyingly thump-y everywhere else. Driving on smooth and/or icy roads hasn't given us a proper feel for what the R-Design's setup will do on a typically churned up UK street, but we expect it'll be fine - and that it won't matter too much anyway, because the R-Design is the best looking of the range, and thus the one to have.
