work done) 1 previous owner | GENERAL INFORMATION / HISTORY | We are having to part with our much loved XC90, as we have decided to downgrade to an older XC90 simply to save some money on the sale of this vehicle (hard times). It is the second XC90 that we have owned and we are fans of Volvo (I also own a Volvo S60 T5, LPG conversion, which will also soon be up for sale). We are a large family with five children, and the XC90 fulfills all our needs. It has seven comfortable seats, the biggest boot of any 7 seater 4x4 (only the Land Rover Defender and the Audi Q7 come close - we researched the market!), is a competent 4x4 (which we need for towing our caravan), and is one of the safest (if not the safest) vehicle on the road (if you are not sure about this, subscribe to the Volvo magazine, and you will see the in depth safety testing they do on their vehicles), and it feels safe whilst driving. As it is the 185hp version, it has plenty of torque - fourth and fifth gear have lots of pull. It tows like a dream, and on our trip to Scotland, we did not notice our caravan behind us. Another big attraction of the XC90s is their luxury. It is very comfortable for traveling in, the cabin is quiet and you can converse with very little road noise. It is very smooth with excellent internal space. If needed, all seats fold down flat. The split tailgate is extremely useful. For a family, it is the place to change nappies, for children to sit on whilst putting on walking boots, and even for cooking food on a stove (so long as you are careful!). On fuel, it is good for a 4x4. We tend to get about 30 mpg for short journeys and about 38 mpg on long journeys. It is metallic gold in colour, and the bodywork is in excellent condition. | SERVICE HISTORY This XC90 was a fleet vehicle that we bought through Steve Crowter of Sure Car Consultants (who we have been dealing with for 15 years). It has a full service history, which has been serviced at Volvo Main Dealers - Arnold Clark, Aberdeen for the first four stamps, and was then serviced by Sure Car Consultants (PRP Autos Ltd, Coventry) before it was brought to us on just over 41,500 miles. The next service is due at 59,500 miles. INTERIOR / FEATURES The interior is luxurious beige leather with a brown dashboard, walnut centre console and chrome trims. Driver`s seat is electric with seat positions stored in memory corresponding with each driver`s key fob. There are 2 keys. The middle seat has an integrated child booster seat. The centre armrest is removable to give the middle passenger in the second row even more leg room if needed. The middle seat also slides forward for your child to be closer to you. Plenty of storage pockets, drinks holders, and `cubby holes` are provided around the vehicle, and are well placed and thought out. The CD player is a single disc player, as the older models had a `six stack` CD player, which would frequently get stuck. There is an MP3 connection which is neatly mounted in the centre console. CD controls with headphone jack sockets are provided on the door pillars for the rear passengers. If you have not experienced Volvo sound systems, be assured that the eight speaker system (also controlled from the steering wheel) is excellent, and provides both volume and bass when required! Mirrors are electrically adjustable and retractable. Parking sensors are useful for easy reversing. Rain sensing windscreen wipers add a bit of laziness! The features are endless. Please visit Volvo`s website for more information. MECHANICAL It has a new MOT (until Jan 2013), so is `good to go`. It is in excellent mechanical condition as previously mentioned. Volvo`s engines are bullet proof, to quote the owner of our local volvo specialist garage! We have not covered much mileage with our XC90, as we use our old Seat Alhambra as the `work horse` for day to day mileage. The XC90 is our weekend and holiday vehicle, and took us and our caravan safely to the Isle of Mull and the Lake District over the summer. Other than that, it stays at home. The jeep drives beautifully, and the engine is very smooth. The only mechanical work to have been done on the jeep is the rear brake discs and handbrake shoes were replaced. SAFETY The airbags and air curtains (down the entire length of the vehicle) give you peace of mind, with Volvo`s emphasis on safety, that this is an extremely safe vehicle for family travel. You feel and know you are safe in an XC90. The Volvo XC90 boasts plenty of kit to keep you out of trouble. The All Wheel Drive system reduces the chances of the driver losing control – as do driver aids dynamic stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution and emergency brake assist. There is technology to reduce the chances of rolling and Volvo has also increased the strength of the roof by using boron steel – which is up to five times stronger than regular steel. All this helped the Volvo XC90 receive a full five star EuroNCAP crash test rating. Let`s hope that none of us needs it. NOT INCLUDED The tow bar and volvo roof `aero` bars are not included in the sale, sorry, neither are the child car seats! | SUMMARYIt is an excellent vehicle, extremely reliable and in 100% working order. It has been well looked after. has owned the car in his own name for nearly three years and the first owner was the lease company. The car has FULL Volvo service history from new with 13 stamps in the service book. The next service is needed in July. A print out detailing ALL work (including tyres etc) carried out while Lease company maintained is also with the history.. All service invoices from private ownership. All old MOTs are also present. All the documents and service books are with the car as are two sets of keys. The car has never been crashed or smoked in and the interior is unmarked. The body work is also unmarked with no scratches or dents any were. All four Alloys have some slight kerb marks but nothing really bad. All tyres are very good two are nearly new and all match.
