1964 Volvo PV544 B18

This restored Volvo PV544 is finished in Beige paintwork with Beige cloth and vinyl interior.

Fitted with Volvo later type B18 - 1800 single carb engine, also fitted to the P1800 this is the better of the engine produced in the car benefiting from the 5-bearing crank. This again was rebuilt and painted during the cars restoration now with a recent tune up works very well indeed and would put most modern cars to shame in reliability and smoothness. They are fairly basic cars but this one has a fantastic steel sliding sunroof and factory fit front seat belts. She has lived in Holland her whole life up until 2010 and was subject to a major restoration there some 10 years ago. The work, which is photographically documented in the history file was extensive. The whole car was stripped and with the drive train removed all the bad metal was cut out and replaced with nice new panels. Once this work was completed the car was prepared for paint and finished in its original Volvo Beige. The chassis, inner wings and structural points underneath are all in good condition and the car has been heavily protected with clear Waxoil. This drive train was rebuilt and painted during the cars restoration, and with a thorough service and tune up now works very well. These units are famed for their reliability and should provide few worries in the future. There are no carpets, just a formed grey rubber mat that covers the floor of the car and all the interior fixtures such as the dash are body coloured. With the metal panoramic sunroof wound back the inside of the PV is a really enjoyable place for driver and passengers alike. Everything is now working and she drives really well. We have copies of the original Dutch registration documentation and photographs of the original restoration. She is sporting an original set of volvo pressed wheels and chrome hub caps. All 4 tyres are nearly new The exterior and interior show some signs of wear but overall its a fantastic car and is lots of fun to drive.
